Greencore Group plc is an Irish-headquartered (Dublin) FTSE-250 convenience food manufacturer and the world's largest producer of fresh pre-packed sandwiches, supplying own-label chilled, frozen and ambient products to all major UK supermarkets plus convenience, travel retail, discounters, coffee shops and foodservice. In FY25 it generated revenue of ~£1.95bn, employed c.13,300 people, and operated 16 manufacturing sites and 17 distribution centres in the UK, manufacturing 764m sandwiches and food-to-go items, 148m chilled ready meals and 200m bottles of sauces/condiments. Food-to-go (sandwiches, salads, sushi, snacking) is ~69% of revenue. In January 2026 it completed the £1.2bn acquisition of rival Bakkavor (ready meals/pizza), roughly doubling scale to ~£4bn combined revenue and 40+ sites. Its operating model centres on high-volume, high-throughput chilled assembly lines, operational-excellence programmes, and short-shelf-life direct-to-store logistics.
