Vial stoppering and crimp-cap sealing with seal-force control

After filling, vials are stoppered and an aluminum crimp seal/cap is applied to maintain container-closure integrity. The task requires placing a rubber stopper and crimping the seal with controlled force/torque so the closure is gas-tight without crushing or cocking the stopper or cracking the vial neck. It sits immediately after filling and before inspection on a high-speed aseptic line. While much of this is done by dedicated capping machinery today, it is contact-intensive because seal integrity depends on applied force rather than position, and over- or under-crimping both produce rejects or sterility risk. Tactile feedback would let a flexible cell verify each seal rather than rely on downstream sampling. We identified this through our own research; we have not confirmed the specifics with the customer directly. This page is our researched read — a starting point for that conversation.

To confirm with the customer

Is this the actual task and sequence? What are the real tolerances, cycle rate, and reject criteria, and which steps are today's manual bottleneck? Answering these is what turns this from a researched signal into a validated use case.
