Sodexo is a French contract food-services and facilities-management company headquartered in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France, founded in Marseille in 1966 by Pierre Bellon. It is a services operator (not a product manufacturer): it runs catering, central/commissary kitchens, and integrated facilities management (cleaning, technical services, energy) across business & industry, healthcare, education, government/defense, senior living, and sports/leisure venues (Sodexo Live!). It reported ~EUR 24.1bn FY2025 revenue, ~426,000 employees across 43-45 countries, serving ~80M consumers daily at ~27,000 sites; the Pluxee benefits arm was spun off in 2024. Leadership is in transition: Thierry Delaporte (ex-Wipro/Capgemini) became Group CEO Nov 10, 2025 and also took direct leadership of North America (its largest market) from Jan 1, 2026, succeeding Sophie Bellon (now non-executive Chairwoman), amid a stated turnaround/efficiency push. AGD-relevant manipulation activity sits in its kitchen/food-prep operations; its publicly visible automation appetite to date is throughput/vending-oriented (robotic hot-food kiosks, pizza-topping bots, salad robots, cleaning robots) rather than feel-based dexterity.
